3rd Annual Run/Walk in Remembrance 5K & Rev It Up In Remembrance Car Show

On Saturday, May 25, 2019 Doug Behme Foundation hosted their 3rd Annual Run/Walk in Remembrance 5K and Rev It Up in Remembrance Car Show in Worden, Illinois. The events are held annually in remembrance of loved ones who have passed away and to enable the Foundation to provide assistance and opportunities to those who have been affected by burn injuries, as well as to their children and their families.

The Run/Walk in Remembrance 5K attracted over 245 participants.  Several groups walked in memory of their loved ones and memory signs were displayed along the 5K route.  Overall top finishers were Jackie Kemph and Tim Patridge.  Top finishers in age categories were Josie Davis, Nolan Miller, Shelby Quick, Jacob Daube, Taylor Orloski, Joe Goss, Katie Sirko, Andrew Langendorf, Bethany Reichmann, Dustin Reichmann, Shona Quick, Mike Suhre, Lilli Sirko, Tom Wille, Linda Davenport, Al Davenport, Sandy Daube and Leroy Liske.  Sugar Petunia Photography was present capturing the events and special moments of the day.  

The Rev It Up in Remembrance Car Show drew 87 entries. The first 50 entrants received dash plaques and top prizes went to Tim Leihser (1969 Chevy Chevelle SS), Kevin Mumper (1968 Chevy RS Camaro), Bruce Voyles (1969 Dodge Dart), Pat Nacey (1968 Chevy Corvette), Phil Strader (1967 Chevy Camaro), Ron Kinder (1956 Ford Sunliner), MT Yates (1938 Dodge Truck), Cody Reymen (2001 Yamaha V-Star), John Falcone (1968 Chevy Camaro), Jon & Jeanna Greco (1969 Chevy Camaro), Simon Griffin (1954 Austin Healey 100) and Mike Heinemann (1969 Shelby GT 350).

Doug Behme Foundation would like to sincerely thank the Village of Worden, the Worden Public Library, the Worden Volunteer Fire Department, Omphghent Township, the Yellow Dog Café and Bar and all volunteers for their hard work and dedication to making the 5K and car show a success.

Proceeds from the Run/Walk in Remembrance 5K and Rev It Up in Remembrance Car Show will be used to provide assistance and care bags for families staying with loved ones in the burn unit at Mercy Hospital.  In addition, donations will be made to Camp “I Am Me”, Midwest Burn Camp and Mercy Burn Foundation.
